2. A walk through the historic center
The colonial architecture of downtown Lima is well worth a visit (even if it’s express). The essentials places are the Plaza de Armas (main square), where you can find the Cathedral and the Government Palace, the San Martin Square and the Santo Domingo Convent (with its catacombs).

Although the Peruvian capital has a great diversity of restaurants where you can taste the different dishes of the country, it is almost a sin to visit Lima and not try a good ceviche. 4. The history of Peru in the museums of Lima
Lima has many museums where you can learn about the history of Peru, from pre-Columbian times to the present. Some examples are the Lima Art Museum (MALI), located in the center of the city and that always has interesting temporary exhibitions; the Larco Museum, with an incredible exhibition of the 3000 years of pre-Columbian Peruvian history or the The Place of Memory, Tolerance and Social Inclusion, which reviews the recent era of terrorism in Peru.
5. A walk along the boardwalk
The boardwalk in Miraflores is one of the most beautiful areas in Lima, especially to enjoy the sunset. This area, full of parks and located at the top of a ravine, also has spectacular views to the sea.
6. To close the day, a delicious dinner
What better than going to bed with the stomach full with delicious food? At night, we recommend you to change the menu: Creole food, Nikkei, Chaufa … the decision will be difficult! With just one day in Lima, you have to think well about what you want to eat and the rest is enjoy the dishes.
