Where to travel in Peru for Independence Day

The Independence Day is approaching and during this days many people escape the routine for knowing Peru. If you are already thinking about where to go this year with your family or friends, at Tierra Viva Hotels we leave you some recommendations:

We start with the capital. Lima is the perfect place to enjoy the sea, the culture and the gastronomy.

We show you the perfect plan: wake up with a buffet breakfast in any of the two hotels we have in the district of Miraflores (in Mendiburu and Larco), learn a little more about the history of Peru in any of the museums that you find in the capital (such as the Larco Museum, the MAC, the MALI, the catacombs of the San Francisco church …), lunch in an exquisite restaurant (such as La Mar, Ámaz, Panchita, La Lucha, Edo…) and, to close the day, go for a walk in the coast to enjoy a sunset overlooking the sea. It sounds good, right?

Also, if you want to enjoy the celebrations for these holidays, you can not miss the “Corso de Wong”, which is usually held a week before the Independence Day, as well as the military parade, which takes place every July 29.

The “White City” awaits you at the foot of the imposing Misti Volcano with various gastronomic and craft fairs during these dates. The Plaza de Armas of this city is one of the most beautiful in Peru and just one block from out Tierra Viva Arequipa Plaza Hotel, where we can’t wait to receive you so you can spend a few days full of fun .

Enjoy the Colca Canyon, visit the Convent of Santa Catalina and taste the delicious food of Arequipa is what most motivates travelers who come to this city. Also, if you are in Arequipa on July 27, you can enjoy the military parade.

When you go to eat, visit the “picanterías”, where you will find the best of the cuisine of the area: “rocoto relleno”, “chupe de camarones”, “ocopa”, “adobo arequipeño” … and you can not miss the “queso helado”, a wonderful dessert!

Cusco is, without any doubt, the perfect plan for any time of the year. It is the favorite destination of many Peruvians during national holidays so these days the city is very lively, with a lot of people throughout its streets and parades in different points.

In Tierra Viva we have hotels in San Blas, Center, Plaza de Armas and Saphi, all surrounded by various tourist attractions of interest such as the Stone of 12 Angles, the Cathedral, Qorikancha or the central market of San Pedro.

If you are one of those who celebrate the Independence Day with all the pride of being Peruvian, there is no better way than visiting the most representative of our country: Machu Picchu. If your destination during these holidays is the Inca citadel, we will be waiting for you on Tierra Viva Cusco Machu Picchu Hotel, located in Aguas Calientes.

But if you want to have a few days of total disconnection, you have to stay in the Sacred Valley. The Tierra Viva Sacred Valley Urubamba is the perfect place to fully enjoy nature and relax in our spa.

Puno receives thousands of travelers every year who want to visit its main tourist attraction: Lake Titicaca and its islands. The Titicaca is the highest navigable lake in the world and to get there you have to depart from this city.

Due to the height, it is advisable to acclimatize during the first day before going out to see the lake, so we recommend you to stay at our Tierra Viva Puno Plaza Hotel, located just one block away from the Plaza de Armas and near the pier from where boats depart to the islands of Amantani, Taquile and Uros, among others.

The national holidays are the best time of year to learn about the history of our country and enjoy each of its corners. Explore the culture, taste the diverse gastronomy, connect with nature and, of course, continue to feel proud of being Peruvian!

If you want to live these holidays to the fullest, we wait for you in our hotels with the best service, breakfast buffet in all our offices and free WIFI to be always connected. Make your reservation here!
