Things to do in Cusco with your children

Cusco is the perfect destination where adults and children can have a good time. If you are planning your next visit to this beautiful city, take note of the following things to do with your children.

 

When you are travelling with children remember to bring water, sunscreen, hats and it is recommended to rest the first day to get used to the altitude. It is very important to choose a cozy hotel that will provide your family the comfort they need, and at the same time with great location, near Cusco main square, to avoid any altitude sickness during your stay.

12 angle stone

To start your tour, you can visit the 12 angle stone, famous for its perfection and immense structure. You can find it on Hatun Rumiyoq Street, only 2 blocks from Cusco Main Square.

San Pedro Market

A must stop is the San Pedro Market, where you can enjoy juices made from fresh fruit. Also, your children will be able to learn more about the different local products from the region and purchase some souvenirs.

Choco museum

A chocolate adventure! This is the perfect place to learn everything about the origin of Peruvian chocolate with a hands-on experience. Here, children can take part of different workshops where they can make their own chocolate. You can visit it at 210 Garcilaso Street.

Huasao Wetland

If you or your kids are fans of “Guardians of the Galaxy”, make sure you visit this place! A themed park located in the district of Oropesa, 30 minutes from Cusco city, where kids can take photos with famous Marvel characters such as Groot, and enjoy movie experience.

Sacsayhuaman

A well-known and visited tourist attraction in Cusco is the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman that beyond the wonderful history of its construction, has a space where the family can have a good time. Here, adults and children, can climb the “stone slides” and enjoy a fun afternoon.
