Trujillo

Trujillo is well- known as the city of eternal spring, due to its warm climate throughout the year and it is the third most important city in Peru, due to its great economic and cultural impact.
It has one of the most productive valleys in the country, standing out in the production of sugar cane, asparagus, as well as shoe manufacturing.

The city still preserves very important archaeological remains of the Mochica and Chimú cultures, such as Chan Chan, the Huaca de la Luna y el Sol, the Cupisnique cemeteries, the el Brujo complex and some colonial houses and mansions. It also has magnificent beaches such as Las Delicias, Salaverry, Buenos Aires and Huanchaco where you can find the famous caballitos de totora and where surfers like to practice.
It has several traditional celebrations such as the National Marinera Contest (typical dance of the area) held in January, the International Spring Festival, the Peruvian Paso Horse Contest, exhibitions and competitions of caballitos de totora, among others.
Gastronomy is not a problem in Trujillo. Both in the center and in the surroundings you will find excellent restaurants where you can try both Creole and international food. The most traditional dish is the shambar made with wheat, beans, mote, pork, red chili, onion and other mixtures.
