The best beaches of Lima

Summer is just around the corner and there is no better plan for a weekend getaway than visiting the beaches located south of Lima. Whether for surfing or to enjoy a day of sun and sea, in the Peruvian capital you will find a wide variety of beaches for all tastes. Meet some of them with us!

El Silencio Beach

Just 38 kilometers south of the district of Miraflores you will find one of the most famous beaches in the “Sur Chico”. This is El Silencio, a beach with coarse sand and calm waters ideal for a relaxing day.

In summer, this beach is one of the favorites of the people from Lima, so we recommend you to go early in the morning to grab a good site or, if you prefer, you can visit other nearby beaches such as Señoritas or Caballeros, located two kilometers away from El Silencio.

Punta Hermosa

About five kilometers south of El Silencio is located Punta Hermosa, which is made up of different beaches, all of which are very pleasant. The main one is Playa Blanca, a very extensive beach with fine white sand that every summer receives hundreds of people who will spend the day or rent one of the houses that are located near the sea.

This place is full of restaurants where you can try the typical Peruvian seafood dishes, such as the Trattoria Don Angelo, one of the most famous in the area. In addition, Punta Hermosa is the preferred destination for those looking to party near the sea.

Santa María Beach

50 kilometers south of Miraflores is Santa María, a beautiful and extensive beach of fine sand in which you will find exclusive summer houses.

Its waters are very calm, so it is perfect to go with children. In addition, on this beach, you will find a small cove in which the restaurant El Cangrejito is located, with excellent food and beautiful views of the Pacific.

Pucusana

Pucusana is the perfect setting for fishing and diving enthusiasts. It is formed by several beaches and by the Galapagos Island, with restricted access.

Being a fishing village, Pucusana offers a wide variety of restaurants where you can enjoy a good ceviche, rice with seafood or any other seafood dishes.
