Planetarium and Observatory Museum Morro Solar

The world of stars and planets always is attractive to the kids. The planetarium of Lima is located in the district of Chorrillos and here they can learn about astronomy topics and they will know interesting objects such as the Ricardo Palma writer’s telescope. In addition, of course, they can live a great experience in the planetarium, which shows images of topics such as the formation of the planets.

Location: Morro Solar, Chorrillos.
Schedule: Sundays 11:30 a. m. (a single function).

Museum of Natural History

This museum, belonging to the National University of San Marcos, has a large collection of skeletons of extinct animals that will fascinate your children. In addition, the museum is a journey through the life forms of our country.

Location: Avenida Arenales 1256, Jesús María.
Schedule: Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:15 p. m., Saturdays from 9:00 a. m. to 4:30 p.m., Sundays from 10:00 a. m. to 4:30 p.m. and holidays from 10:00 a. m. to 1:30 p.m.
Price: S/ 10 adults, S/ 5 children. 2×1 first Sunday of the month.

Museum of Contemporary Art of Lima

The MAC, located in Barranco, is highly attractive not only for its museum but for the large outdoor space that surrounds it. It is the perfect place to spend a Sunday, day in which, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., the children can enjoy different activities and guided visits.


Location: Avenida Grau 1511, Barranco.
Schedule: Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 a. m. to 6:00 p.m.
Price: S/ 10 general admission, S/ 6 children, students, and retirees.

The Electricity Museum

A good way to teach the kids about the importance of energy and how to make the best use of it (it even has a room dedicated to energy saving).

Location: Avenida San Pedro de Osma 105, Barranco.
Schedule: Monday to Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Price: free entry.
