Rafting in Cusco

Cusco is one of the great destinations of Peru for the practice of rafting. Most of these activities are offered in the Sacred Valley, where operators use different sections of the Urubamba River. From the highlands, as Chuquicahuana, or sections close to the valley as Pachar, Ollantaytambo or Huarán. There are experiences for every tastes and ages, according to the season and difficulty level on the river. Those who wish, may also have experiences of several days to travel the rivers Apurimac, Colca or Cotahuasi with rapids that range from Class 1 to 6, including several camping points.

    • Tips: Always carry a complete change of clothing. It is better to wear sandals when in water, otherwise you may also have to carry a spare pair of shoes. Decent operators should include safety equipment and have all the equipment in perfect condition.
